AUTOMOTIVE FINE ARTS SOCIETY MEMBER DENNIS HOYT SELECTED TO HOST EXCLUSIVE ART EXHIBIT DURING BAHRAIN GRAND PRIX
LOS ANGELES – April 7, 2015- World-renowned motor artist and sculptor, Dennis Hoyt, will showcase an exclusive exhibition of his latest automotive artwork in an exhibition named the “Art of Speed” at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) during the highly anticipated 2015 Formula One Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, taking place April 17-19. Hoyt is a long-time member of the respected Automotive Fine Arts Society (AFAS).
“I was especially honored to have a private audience with His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa who is a real car guy. I’m thrilled to be part of this year’s celebration for the Bahrain Grand Prix,” said Hoyt. “Bahrain International circuit is a stunning venue with beautiful architecture in an amazing location. Formula One is the pinnacle of motorsports and it is an honor to showcase my artwork during such a prestigious event. The additional perk of having a private discussion and showing with Mr. Bernie Ecclestone wasn’t too bad either”, states Hoyt.
“To have Dennis here is very exciting for us,” said BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman Bin Isa Al Khalifa. “We are all aware of the incredible work that Dennis has been producing and we can’t wait for our spectators and guests to experience his work first hand. We are also extremely honored to have Dennis exclusively unveil his new piece here in Bahrain.”
Dennis Hoyt has been sculpting since 1984 and has exhibited at most of the major motoring and motorsport events in the U.S. In 1988, he was the first artist to be unanimously elected to the Automotive Fine Arts Society. He was the inspiration and first recipient of the ‘Raymond E. Holland Award for Vision and Creativity’.

One of the most challenging sculptures I have ever created consists of two log sections: one for the car and another for the rear “blur.” The “blur” could only be achieved at arms length, necessitating the carving, shaping, and sanding of all wood from both the front and rear. The creation of this specific section alone consumed nine months of work. As with all my sculptures, the colors are dyed using aniline dyes. The application of colors, masking, and subsequent re-masking took an additional two months.
